We’re about to run out of the Raspberry Pi 3B+ 🙁
The global shortage of semiconductors has arrived !
We’ve been searching all the usual suspects for supply but the earliest rumor we’ve heard is mid October, others are variously claiming December through February !! When supply resumes we are expecting a cost increase.
We do have stock of the Pi 3B which will tide us over for a while. We will continue fabricating with that version since functionally it’s not much different to the 3B+ in this application. The main difference is that it only supports 2.4 Ghz WiFi connections. Typically that’s not an issue, since most all domestic WiFi Routers provide both 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz channels.
We’ll make this obvious in the Store so you know what you’re buying – likely to happen within the next 2 weeks.
