Major change in this release is the addition of the Auto Access Point Rescue Mode that turns your node into a WiFi Access Point when it cannot reach the Internet. In this mode you can connect your Smartphone to the node over WiFi, and using the ClearNode Smartphone App push new WiFi credentials to the node so it can re-connect to the Internet. This “Rescue Mode” is in addition to our long standing WiFiByLight functionality.

We’ll be publishing notes and instructions to the Managing WiFi page shortly.

This functionality is only available in the ASL3 image – it is not supported for those nodes running HamVoIP. Also note that this is NOT the “ASL-Fallback-AP” funcionality that is currently being tested in the ASL3 Beta channel – that mode will be disabled once we release that series of ASL3 updates.

We are also providing the “wait times” in AllStar Setup so users can adjust those values to their own satisfaction,
