ClearNode Pro features two FM transceivers – one dedicated to receive and the other to transmit.
Why is that an advantage ?
When you’re trying to checkin to your favorite Net and there’s a continuous stream of others transmitting their checkins, single transceiver nodes (aka Simplex Nodes) are locked in transmit and can’t hear your HT if you press PTT. With the ClearNode Pro the dedicated receive transceiver will hear your HT, and AllStar, set to full duplex, will send your checkin to the Net so the controller can pick you out of the clutter – no matter how busy the traffic gets. If another user accidentally gets a “stuck mic” condition, blocking all simplex nodes, your duplex digital stream still reaches the Net Controller.
ClearNode Pro is about 1 inch longer and 1/4 inch taller than the standard ClearNode – mostly to accommodate the repositioned cooling fan and internal EM shielding.
Setup of the two transceivers is as seamless as it is with the standard ClearNode – no selector switches or special programming cables. You will have to separate your Tx and Rx frequencies by 5 Mhz on the ClearNode Pro, and set your HT into the appropriate repeater plus or minus mode – just as you would were you using a repeater.

Control and configuration is achieved via the same ClearNode Smartphone App – available for Apple iOS or Android.
